BIOTINYLATED HEPARINS

The rationale behind BIOTINYLATED HEPARIN [BH-0323] or BIOTINYLATED ARDEPARIN [BF-0345] is that biotin bound to an oligosaccharide moiety is still available for noncovalent high affinity interaction with avidin or streptavidin. The affinity constant between biotin and the glycoprotein avidin is one of the largest free energies of association known for noncovalent binding of a protein and a small ligand in aqueous solution. This complex is extremely stable over a wide range of temperature and pH.
